My client is looking for a legal secretary, trained in secretarial practice with excellent word   processing and audio-typing skills.  You will preferably have previous experience as a legal secretary dealing with conveyancing, both commercial and residential.

Main responsibilities

  • To prepare correspondence and documents through audio-typing and word processing.
  • To administer filing which will include daily filing and the opening, closing, storage and retrieval of client files in accordance with procedures
  • To prepare mail and enclosures for despatch.
  • To arrange for all copying to be done.
  • To make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up-to-date diary.
  • To answer incoming telephone calls.
  • To provide support to other secretaries as required.
  • To provide guidance to junior and temporary secretaries when required to do so.
  • To attend clients both in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner.
  • To undertake any specific training when required to do so and overall to have a responsibility towards self-development.
  • To check for receipt of funds and to input payments.
  • To assist, as necessary, with the firm’s daily banking.
  • To ensure the confidentiality of all the firm’s and client’s documentation and information.


This role is full time paying £25,000pa. Office hours are Monday to Friday (9am – 5pm with 1 hour for lunch)
