The Role:
A Gas Detection Engineer is required to join an existing team of engineers. Specific training will be provided but previous hands-on practical experience in commercial gas detection, electronics and/or instrumentation is desirable. The role is predominantly office based but working on client’s sites will be required and some overnight stays may also be required:
You will be involved in, but not limited to:
- Servicing, calibrating and installation of gas detection equipment.
- Fault finding, diagnosis and rectification
- Replacing components using basic wiring and soldering
- Reading, understanding and following technical specifications, manuals and procedures
- Write up reports, calibration certificates and procedures
Essential
- Highly self-motivated and able to work independently on own initiative and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written (hand and electronic), high attention to detail
- Strong IT skills using MS Office software, Emails and other relevant software programs.
- Strive to build and maintain customer relationships by liaising professionally with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
- Good organisational skills, punctuality and timekeeping,
- Presentable
- Practical skills such as use of hand and power tools
- Formal qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent)
- A flexible approach to working activities
- Valid (Full) UK Drivers licence and Passport
Desirable
- 2 years Commercial gas detection experience
- Degree, HND or Equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
- Field experience / customer facing experience
- PLC, MODBUS and cabinet wiring experience
- ISO 9001:2015 knowledge and experience
