My client has a vacancy for an Internal Sales Engineer to join their sales and marketing team. The role will be office based and the key areas for the position are to:

  • Support the sales manager in sales activities and marketing campaigns 
  • Be a consistent and accessible point of contact for customers
  • Advise on product selection to meet customer requirements and expectations.
  • Prepare and issue cost effective quotations for products and service solutions based on customer requirements
  • Build up and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Attending trade exhibitions, conferences and meetings as necessary
  • Keep up to date with legislation and working standards

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong technical education (Engineering, Chemistry, Physics or equivalent),
  • Be able to read and interpret technical documents (specifications, datasheets, quality standards etc.)
  • Instrumentation knowledge advantageous
  • Knowledge of Google AdWords & Mailchimp
  • Use of initiative, prioritise using sound judgement and good business sense
  • Team working ability
  • The ability to build relationships with clients quickly
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Previous experience in gas detection is desirable but not essential if other relevant experience gained.
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Working hours – 40 hrs (8hrs per day Mon - Fri)
  • 28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays

The role would suit someone with proven track record of related technical sales or an experienced hands-on technician / engineer looking to progress their career and move into sales and marketing.
