We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Engineer with an Electrical/Instrumentation background to work with a market leader in the commercial gas detection industry.

Specific training will be provided but previous experience in gas detection and an interest in electronics and instrumentation is desirable.

The Role:


  • Undertaking routine maintenance, reactive callouts and installation of gas detection equipment.
  • Fault finding and diagnosis and rectification
  • Replacing components using basic wiring and soldering
  • Reading, understanding and following manuals and procedures
  • Write reports and calibration certificates
  • Office based role but working on site will be required with some overnight stays.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, high attention to detail
  • The ability to develop good working relationships
  • Good organisational skills, punctuality and timekeeping

  • Confident with hand and power tools
  • Relevant qualifications (Maths / English / Science)
  • Full Drivers licence


  • Commercial gas detection experience
  • Field experience / customer facing experience
  • PLC, MODBUS and cabinet wiring experience
