Client Relationship Paraplanner 

A key role, working closely with a long term established Principal Partner and handling all aspects of Principal’s clients.

This role would suit an Adviser wishing to pursue an administrative rather than selling function, or perhaps a Paraplanner looking for a wider, more varied role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Communicating with clients, handling queries, assisting with solution development, preparing for and following up meetings, attending meetings where required.

Liaising with and delegating to PA, Paraplanners, New Business Administrator. 

  • Prepare for client reviews;
  • Develop and manage effective systems, processes and procedures which enable Principal to optimise client meetings;
  • Liaise with clients and third parties in relation to the Principal’s clients;
  • Provide the Principal with appropriate support to achieve Practice goals and objectives;
  • Project a professional image in both appearance and attitude and provide quality support on time, to agreed standards; 
  • Attend and contribute to regular update meetings with the Principal; 
  • Maintain a good working relationship with colleagues, clients and third parties;
  • Construct financial planning solutions (investment, retirement, tax and estate planning) supported by the production of computer models and reports (supported by the Paraplanner);
  • Attend client meetings with the Partner as required;
  • Stay abreast of legislative changes and other regulatory issues, taking necessary action as required;
  • Ensure that any business conducted is done in a responsible and compliant manner, meeting all legislative requirements, both internally and externally (liaising with Paraplanner);
  • Undertake continuous professional development to meet regulatory requirements and personal development needs.


Knowledge and experience

  • Previous experience within an IFA or Wealth Management environment;
  • Familiar with all major research systems (e.g. Analytics, Voyant etc.); 
  • Experience of the Pension Transfer market. [ Whilst a knowledge of Final Salary Pension

Transfer market would be desirable, it is not essential.] 

  • Demonstrates up to date knowledge of relevant regulation and legislation;
  • Experience of working within a regulated environment;
  • Experience of managing workflow, systems and procedures;

  •  Enthusiasm to help clients.



  • Minimum Level 4 Diploma PFS qualified (in order to understand client situations and solutions. A technical paraplanner will perform the paraplanning duties.);
  • Chartered Financial Planner status (preferred)
