Our client is looking for a Business Analyst to join their fast-paced team based at their Hemel Hempstead head office to carry out process design, analyse systems and requirements for technical systems. Document all of this for IT professionals to develop, test and implement. Participate in testing plan creation and post implementation support on a contract or permanent basis.

Main Responsibilities and Key Tasks

  • Ongoing communication with customers to understand their requirements fully.
  • Produce detailed functional documentation for the software development and testing teams to work with.
  • Design the desired technical solution considering the opportunities and potential risks and identify the processes and technology required to introduce the recommendations.
  • Document recommendations for stakeholders including costs and risk/benefit analyses and an evaluation of the impact of the changes.
  • Support the staff and teams in making the recommended changes, including helping to resolve any issues.
  • Report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations for improvement to relevant parties.
  • Lead and manage investigations into business processes, functions, information flows, data structures and software development processes, using various methodical and consistent techniques.
  • Define improvements to business processes, while evaluating potential solutions based on the impacts across the organisation.
  • Lead, understand and communicate the big picture while working to assure the overall goal is maintained in creation of the product backlog, in addition to working at a detailed level during sprints and iterations.
  • Leader in providing solutions to real business problems through influence, facilitation and communication.
  • Define scope whilst shaping and challenging business priorities and value through collaboration.
  • Elicit requirements using appropriate techniques considering the nature of change and established.
  • To interact with our customers stakeholders to understand their business needs. To bridge these needs and our clients’ solution by analysing, transforming and ultimately resolving their business problems.
  • Provide an interface between the customer and our clients’ IT, to articulate business problems into formal business and functional requirements.
  • Provide business analysis skills to support the development team in the successful delivery of projects across the business.
  • Support project teams during the analysis and planning stages of software development.
  • Lead the analysis work on projects, ensuring that the process and system changes to be implemented deliver clear business outcomes and benefits for the customer.
  • Improve and re-engineer business processes for optimum efficiency and effectiveness practices.
  • Deliver at pace using various methodologies and principles.
  • Responsible for the creation of requirements documentation to required standards. Using appropriate modelling techniques, considering requirement management and traceability ensuring traceability back to source, adherence to business objectives and their fitness for purpose.
  • Assist decision makers in gathering information to make informed decisions.
  • Promote a culture of assurance and security.
  • Help to quality assure test solutions and products.
  • Actively participate in the Business Analysis community and broader communities to refine and develop standards, working practices and sharing of knowledge and understanding.
