Part-time PR Assistant

£25,000 pro rata 

We are looking for a Part-time Public Relations (PR) Assistant to support the PR Manager for our client based in Tring starting in January 2019. Ideal for somebody looking for 3 – 4 full days a week, flexible for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a PR or sales related environment and an interest in the health and leisure sector. They must be confident, an excellent communicator who is happy to pick up the phone to journalists, and able to work across a number of different projects at the same time. Good writing and computer skills are also important, as well as a hands on attitude. 

Responsibilities:

  • Working with the PR Manager on the development of PR Plans and strategies
  • Day to day press office duties – e.g. reports, media monitoring, identifying PR opportunities across different media – print, online broadcast, social media  
  • Keep calendars (editorial, events etc.) and media lists updated
  • Devising and coordinating photo opportunities
  • Assist in organising and execution of events, campaigns
  • Participate in brainstorming and planning sessions
  • Draft and distribute press releases
  • Undertake general administrative and PR related duties

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as PR assistant or similar role i.e. sales background
  • Understanding of PR and marketing concepts and practices
  • Good working knowledge of databases 
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Well-organized, able to work to deadlines
  • Qualification in public relations, communications or relevant field beneficial
