Content development and management

You will:

  • develop the editorial schedules for your brands
  • be accountable for published copy (print/online)
  • oversee the production of all editorial pages
  • monitor brand engagement against agreed targets
  • continually review processes and suggest improvements
  • raise awareness of brand issues (including resourcing needs) with the Editorial Director.

Brand awareness and strategy

You will be responsible for:

  • raising awareness with external stakeholders
  • demonstrating awareness of the brand profitability, variances to budget, key issues
  • the development of the brand strategy through the annual business planning process
  • reviewing strategy and brand progress in regular internal brand meetings
  • supporting the marketing strategy
  • demonstrating knowledge of the competition

 

Team development/leadership

You will:

  • ensure team members know what is expected of them
  • encourage team members’ contributions and development
  • lead from the front, communicating expectations and goals to others.

 

Project management

You will be the in-house Editorial Lead on a range of sponsored (online/print) projects, and will be required to liaise with:

  • the Sales, Commercial and Product, and Project Management Teams as appropriate
  • clients, keeping them up to date on assigned sponsored projects through to approval.

 

You must demonstrate an understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice and the pharmaceutical industry.

 

Key skills

Essential:

  • Life science degree (or higher) with an understanding of disease area terminology
  • Related experience
  • Confident networker
  • Excellent time management, project management, and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to make informed decisions.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience of:
    • - both digital and print publishing
    • - brand management and development
    • - line management
    • - Excellent proofreading and subediting skills and attention to detail
    • Knowledge of:
  • InDesign; ABPI Code of Practice; Google 
  • Analytics

  • Commercial awareness.
